03 - 1/3 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
04 - 2 tablespoons almond flour or whole wheat flour
05 - 2 tablespoons light brown sugar or coconut sugar
06 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
07 - 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
08 - Pinch of salt
09 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
10 - 2 tablespoons unsweetened applesauce

11 - 1/4 cup raisins or dried cranberries
# How-To Steps:
01 - Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
02 - Wash and core the apples, keeping the bottom intact to hold the filling.
03 - In a medium bowl, blend rolled oats, chopped nuts, almond or whole wheat flour, brown or coconut sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
04 - Add melted butter and unsweetened applesauce to the dry mixture and stir until evenly moistened.
05 - Fold in raisins or dried cranberries if using.
06 - Arrange apples upright in a baking dish and fill each with the oat-nut mixture, pressing gently.
07 - Pour 2 to 3 tablespoons of water into the bottom of the dish to prevent sticking, then loosely cover with aluminum foil.
08 - Bake for 20 minutes covered to allow apples to soften.
09 - Remove foil and continue baking for 15 minutes until topping is golden and apples are tender.
10 - Serve warm, optionally accompanied by Greek yogurt or your preferred topping.
